Responsibility
- read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings
- cut or saw bricks to required size using hand or power tools
- mix mortar or grout and spread it onto a slab or foundation
- use trowels and other hand tools to finish surfaces
- install firebrick linings in industrial furnaces
- repair and maintain existing masonry structures
- lay bricks, concrete blocks, stone, and other masonry units to construct or repair walls, partitions, arches, fireplaces, chimneys, and other structures
Requirements
- proven experience as a brick mason
- ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
- ability to work at heights and lift heavy objects
- good communication skills
- attention to detail
- knowledge of drywall installation, caulking, roofing, heavy equipment operation, trim carpentry, frame carpentry, metal stud framing, tile laying and welding is preferred
- masonry: 5 years
