Responsibility
- reading and interpreting engineering drawings, sketches and work specifications
- fabricating/Welding various steel components and structures
- ensure all dimensions are checked, verified when required, recorded on dimensional reports and signed
- perform visual examinations of completed welds for compliance prior to being examined by the Welding Inspector
- working accurately and efficiently with a high attention to detail
- taking responsibility for time management and scheduling to make sure jobs are completed on time
Requirements
- MIG welding, fabrication and development on bespoke steel fabrications in a heavy engineering environment
- experienced in steel fabrication processes
- experience in operating Press-brake, guillotine, steel roller, and bandsaws
- able to fabricate to tight tolerances
- understanding technical drawings
- ability to work on your own initiative, excellent time management skills
- ability to build trust and good working relationships with colleagues.Knowledge of Health & Safety
- excellent attention to detail
