Responsibility
- develop and design mechanical components and systems using CAD software, primarily SolidWorks
- create detailed schematics and documentation for manufacturing processes
- conduct root cause analysis to troubleshoot design issues and implement effective solutions
- collaborate with engineers and other stakeholders to ensure designs meet project specifications and requirements
- utilise GD&T principles in the design process to ensure accuracy and quality
- maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, technologies, and best practices in design engineering
- assist in the testing and evaluation of prototypes, providing feedback for improvements
- communicate with customers and be confident doing so
Requirements
- bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- proficiency in SolidWorks, CAD software, and GD&T principles
- strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand complex systems and components
- familiarity with logic controllers and their applications in design is an advantage
- excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis
- strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines
- effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for collaboration within teams
