- minimum NVQ level 2, with experience of working with rail traction and rolling stock
- involvement and understanding of rail vehicle maintenance activities
- previous experience
- A clear understanding of rail safe systems of work
- able to understand maintenance manuals and technical drawings
- to complete service maintenance logs, inspection sheets, etc
- to carry out balance maintenance and pre-planned maintenance and rolling stock brake test, PPM/VIBT
