Responsibility
- design, fabricate, and repair upholstery for a variety of marine vessels
- consult with clients to determine their needs and preferences
- assess the condition of existing upholstery and develop a plan for repair or replacement
- measure and cut fabric, leather, and other materials used in upholstery
- use a variety of tools such as scissors, cutting knives, and mabey sewing machines
- install new upholstery, ensuring a secure and accurate fit
- maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure safety and efficiency
- inform your supervisor to order materials and supplies as needed
Requirements
- proven work experience as a Boat Upholsterer or in a similar role
- excellent pattern-making skills with sewing skills being an advantage
- knowledge of various upholstery materials and their appropriate uses
- ability to take accurate measurements and make precise cuts
- strong attention to detail and a keen eye for design and color
- good communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members
- experience with marine upholstery or similar environments
- ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
