Responsibility
- ensure supplier relationships are stable and sustainable, building and maintaining good communication levels and procure product/services effectively
- overseeing the accurate administration of the function, including all documentation, ordering, pricing, shipment, warehousing suitability, stock control and scheduling payments/prepayments
- managing transport providers and intermediaries, to optimise global shipping and air freight
- monitor suppliers and transport providers to assess performance and price competitiveness on a regular basis
- close liaison with Sales/Technical in order to regularly assess suppliers/products/services and assist in identifying improvements or possible alternatives
- analyse buying and market trends to identify areas for improvement and/or cost saving
- close liaison with planning, VS and WDH Sales to ensure customer demands are clear, via use of forecasts, and are met via correct service levels
Requirements
- A background in Procurement
- ability to work under pressure
- ability to work under own initiative
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- strong organisation skills and record keeping
- strong attention to detail and proven skills relating to accuracy
- previous use of ERP/MRP/CRM computer systems
- purchasing: 2 years
