Responsibility

  • we are currently looking for a creative, passionate & organised Kitchen Manager to join our dynamic Catering Department
  • this role requires strong leadership and good organisational skills
  • ensuring we achieve a 5 star standard and maintain this standard
  • ZSEA is the charity which runs Banham Zoo and Africa Alive and is in an exciting period of change. Our mission is to connect communities to nature for conservation
  • as the Kitchen Manager for our food outlets at Banham Zoo, Norfolk, you will be responsible for overseeing the culinary operations, ensuring the efficient and smooth running of our kitchens, and delivering quality food and beverage services to our visitors
  • the successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the standards of food safety, hygiene, and guest satisfaction at our unique and exciting zoo outlet
  • cost Control and Budgeting: Monitor expenses related to the kitchen, implement cost-effective measures, and work within the allocated budget
  • you must comprehensively understand common food allergens and their potential cross-contamination risks

Requirements

  • proven experience as a Kitchen Manager or similar role in a high-volume catering establishment
  • level 3 Food Safety Qualification
  • further Culinary qualifications or certifications are highly desirable but not essential
  • knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices, such as HACCP
  • strong leadership and team management skills
  • excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • creative flair for menu development and presentation
  • ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
