• establish payment cycles, taking advantage of preferable terms when applicable
• sort, reference and code invoices and credit notes
• assist the Finance Assistant with daily bank reconciliations and update the cashflow accordingly. Report any concerns to the Finance Executive
• check invoices for VAT rates, VAT numbers and accuracy
• prepare documentation from payments and receipts received for sales and purchase ledger entry
• maintain Residents’ Personal Monies system and ensure monthly statements are issued to homes
• reconcile accounts payable and receivable transactions and correct any discrepancies
• issue amenity fund reports to home management
• process month end and close ledgers, ensuring all bank accounts and sundry accounts agree
• highlight to the Finance executive any individuals’ funds that exceed capital thresholds
• monitor credit and debtors reports accounts to ensure payments are up to date and chase for any missing invoices
• produce aged debtor report for monthly submission to Finance Executive
• ensure weekly vehicle returns are received for each vehicle, examine and prepare invoices for authorisation, investigating to satisfaction any anomaly
• audit Nominal Ledgers to ensure invoices and receipts are appropriately coded
• reconcile the office Petty cash, prepare cheques received and deposit at the bank

Requirements

• educated to GCSE level or above
• proficient in MS Office and good numerical skills
• attention to detail, able to work to a high degree of accuracy
