Responsibility
to supervise and instruct groups of young people, aged between 14-18 years old in tasks determined by the General Manager/Workshop manager
to provide the delivery of mechanically-based programmes in the Workshop
assist in the design and formal documentation of new programmes when instructed
to be responsible for advising the General Manager/Workshop Manager of any breach of contract and/or attendance by any learner
metal fabrication including oxy-acetylene, mig and plasma welding
this may involve working with disadvantaged members of the community, some of whom may having learning difficulties, have had a troubled past and been involved in petty crime
general workshop duties including maintenance, painting and decorating, small scale building works and cleaning
to drive The Wheels Project’s vehicles where appropriate
Requirements
the post-holder should be qualified to level 3 in motor vehicle skills, have proven ability in an associated light vehicle employment and must be capable of supervising groups of people
the postholder must hold at least a City & Guilds 7303 level 2 Certificate in Supervisory Skills or be prepared to undertake a course to completion within 4 months of starting
