Requirements
- NVQ level 3 in children and young people workforce or related fields integral
- A current DBS for working with adults and children - we can assist you
- willing to offer some flexibility in work hours and occasionally work weekdays/evenings
- access to own transport and ability to drive and transport children
- children: 1 year
Responsibility
- provide opportunities to support parents to maintain positive relationships with their children
- to have a good understanding of child development, safeguarding and child protection
- to be flexible, committed and maybe required to transport children and young people to the chosen venue to facilitate. You will observe and support vulnerable children, young people, and families during contact with their birth families
- to always follow safeguarding procedures of The Starting Point Centre and report any safeguarding concerns promptly
- to complete a detailed recording of the observations you made during these sessions and will liaise with duty manager, escalating any concerns, as required
- to risk manage and intervene appropriately to de-escalate the risks to safeguard children. Always ensuring the child/young person’s safety and wellbeing are always prioritised
- to attend supervision and training to ensure development of own practice
- to attend bi-monthly team meetings
