Responsibility
- this role requires someone who has previous bar experience, is responsible, trustworthy and reliable
- the Harbour House Inn are recruiting for an experienced Bar Person who will also undertake Night Porter duties which includes onsite, overnight stays
- working on the bar on a rota basis the successful candidate will stay on to lock up the premises and be available to assist overnight guests
- the night porter does not have to stay up throughout the night but will sleep in a designated bedroom for which they will receive a nightly fee instead of an hourly rate and can then avail of breakfast in the coffee shop the next morning
- the purpose of the Night Porter role is for health and safety reasons that a responsible person is on the premises whilst guests are staying
- greet and interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner
- maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area
Requirements
- excellent time management skills to handle multiple orders simultaneously
- strong knowledge of drink recipes, mixing techniques, and garnishments
- basic math skills for calculating bills, making change, and handling cash transactions
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure and attention to detail
- exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to engage with customers and team members
- knowledge of health and safety regulations related to food and beverage service
