Responsibility
- provide compassionate support to residents, ensuring their dignity, and respect at all times
- assist with daily personal care routines, including washing, dressing, and mobility
- support residents with dementia and cognitive impairments, offering tailored care to meet ever changing needs
- encourage and support residents to engage in a variety of activities, promoting their mental and physical well-being
- building strong relationships with residents, their families and the wider professional healthcare team
- administering medication as directed and monitor health and well-being
- assist with meal preparation, ensuring dietary needs are met and assistance given where needed
- contributing to the care plans for each resident, ensuring all their needs are met and continuously improved
Requirements
- previous experience in a care environment
- A caring, empathetic and patient nature with a passion for caring and supporting the elderly
- understanding of dementia care and the challenges it can bring
- the ability to work well as part of a team as well as independently
- excellent communication skills to engage with residents, families and colleagues
- A flexible, adaptable, and positive attitude towards care work
- an understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality in the care environment
