medical secretary

Working hours

  • full-time | Part-time

Responsibility

  • supporting the Director ensuring clinics are set up and running smoothly
  • assisting the Director and Chief Clinical Audiologist in her routine and overseeing the Audiologists clinic rotas
  • communicating with GP practices, ENT Consultants and other healthcare professionals where necessary to ensure smooth pathways for referrals and reports etc
  • responding to a range of incoming general enquiries
  • managing clinician schedules across all our clinics
  • liaise with other Consultants, Secretaries and private Hospitals where necessary
  • booking new and follow up audiology appointments
  • managing patient waiting lists

Requirements

  • pleasant manner and enthusiasm and commitment to excellent patient care are essential for this role
  • previous experience as a Medical Secretary or administration in a Healthcare setting is preferable but not essential as all training will be given to the right person
  • you must love dealing with people as we are a busy clinic and you will be the first contact with patients, their families and other clinics. As such, the post will include exchanging verbal and written information with patients and their families
  • the usual duties may include (ensuring efficient diary management of the Consultant, Clinical Audiologists and associate specialist staff; safe and efficient data management and providing secretarial support as and when necessary
