- history is taught to all students up to the end of Key Stage 3
- students are free to develop their own NEA question if they so wish
- we are seeking an inspirational, well-qualified and dynamic teacher of history to join our highly effective department from January 2024. This will be on a temporary basis to cover a period of maternity leave
- at GCSE numbers are consistently high – in the order of 200 students – and the department produces some of the best outcomes in the country at this level
- we teach a mix of modern and early modern at A Level and experience or a willingness to contribute to the teaching of Stuart Britain and the Crisis of Monarchy 1603-1702 would be welcome
- A level results consistently produce more than 60% at A*/A grade and the department has a good record of successful Oxbridge applications for History, PPE and related subjects
- you will be an enthusiastic classroom teacher who is committed to the teaching of history, and who is willing to help develop the curriculum to further enhance the department’s standing
- colleagues have the opportunity to participate in the wide range of extra-curricular activities available within the school and to support the house system
