- help the University attain Research Excellence by optimising the research output of academic staff
- introduce and maintain impactful and sustainable Knowledge Exchange between the University and external bodies
- develop a dynamic culture of Innovation – including social innovation - amongst students and staff within the University
- ensure effective Metrics and Procedures are in place to record and evidence the University’s research and innovation activities
- they should have extensive administrative experience
- internationalise the University’s research and innovation activities as a way of promoting it overseas to generate new partnerships and support recruitment, as well as driving an agenda for supporting the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals
