Requirements
knowledge of relational/non-relational
strong SQL skills
knowledge of ETL/ELT design
strong programming skills including Python
experience with systems and software development lifecycles
experience with REST APIs and services
general knowledge of security threats, data security principles and GDPR
general knowledge of AI and machine learning
Responsibility
this is a full time/fixed term opportunity for 34 months
an additional £5,667 training and development budget is available for this opportunity
the Role
in addition, an incorporated feature to the required platform for live tracking of the company’s assets needs to be implemented
the System Developer / Data Analyst will be an employee of Glasgow Caledonian University but will be based at John G Russell with regular supervision meetings with the University’s supervisory team
combined with this, we expect to generate high quality research publications from the work
the successful candidate will have a 2.1 degree or higher in either Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or Electrical and Electronic Engineering
the project provides an excellent opportunity to use cutting edge technical skills in data engineering, including data translation, ETL and streaming, to develop a solution to consolidate diverse internal and external data sources that are crucial to the provision of a wide range of transport and logistics services
