Responsibility

  • the Gardens at Yalding, is looking for an experienced Gardener Team Leader to oversee and manage a small team of gardeners
  • there will be the opportunity to grow the team to work on client contracts to maintain grounds, both residential and commercial
  • located in the quaint village of Yalding, The Gardens is a horticultural masterpiece with 12 acres of grounds divided into 16 landscaped gardens
  • family owned, The Gardens is deeply loved – you will be assisting the team maintain the luxury country garden, a backdrop to many weddings and events held throughout the year
  • successful applicants will have experience and be able to demonstrate the ability to successfully lead, support and motive a team and have a minimum of 3 years’ horticulture knowledge and experience
  • to review and monitor compliance of PPE, first aid, risk assessments, COSHH data sheets, checklists
  • the role will be 40 hours per week, normally worked Monday-Friday 7:30am – 4:30pm. Applicants should note there will be weekend work on rota during the peak season and this will pre-arranged to work 5 out of 7 days
  • to manage the team of gardeners including leave requests, absence management and holding regular review meetings
