Responsibility
- chef Supervisor
- on a daily basis lead a team of staff to ensure that all required tasks are completed
- ensure all prescribed business processes and procedures are complied with and carried out

- ensure that all provisions are ordered so that the prescribed menu can be delivered
- ensure purchasing complies with procurement processes and via nominated suppliers
- ensure that all staff are aware of any shortages and that the daily communication sheet is completed
- ensure that all cleaning schedules, hygiene and temperature checks are completed
- lead by example and ensure that the team is motivated to deliver customer focused and sales driven service
- rostering of kitchen staff so that optimum service levels can be achieved in line with business volume and within agreed budget
- responsible to: Catering Manager
- ensure all information needed for daily invoicing for delegates/ guests/conferences and functions is recorded, completed and passed to the relevant persons
- effective monitoring and maintaining stock of food and ensure that all stock is secured
- ensure that stock is rotated, wastage is minimal and that all wastage is accounted for
- proactively seek new and innovative opportunities to improve the customer experience
- monitor products and menus and ensure that they are to specification and that they are consistent
- provide the Catering Manager with innovative suggestions for improvement of the food offer
- ensure that local and statutory procedures are implemented and adhered to
- assist the Manager in regularly informing the team on performance and issues relating
- ensure all staff are trained on the products and that training records are maintained
- assist the Manager in passing information to the Events Coordinator so that invoices can be raised post conference
- address any issues of none compliance to service standards
- ensure any cuts / broken skin are covered with blue waterproof dressings
- ensure all stock is stored appropriately and used in rotation
- ensure that the highest standards of service are achieved. Promote a truly customer focused working environment
- report all accidents to the Catering or Duty Manager
- all staff are required to observe and comply with all relevant regulations and legislation set out on in the Handbook in line with statutory obligations
- report any symptoms of illness to the Catering Manager immediately in order to safeguard the health of others
- ensure that all rubbish bins are emptied and all kitchen rubbish is disposed of or recycled correctly in the appropriate bins
- report any unsafe practices or broken machinery / equipment to the Catering or Facilities & HR Manager as above so that remedial action can be taken immediately
