- completion of an accredited Mental Health Specialist Nurse Prescriber program
- extensive experience working in mental health, particularly in the assessment and management of ADHD and ASD
- prescribing qualification and proven experience in prescribing medications for neurodevelopmental disorders
- knowledge of relevant legislation, guidelines, and best practices governing prescribing in the UK
- strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills, with the ability to formulate comprehensive treatment plans
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and patient-centred approach
- ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment
Responsibility
- conducting comprehensive psychiatric assessments and formulating treatment plans in collaboration with the clinical team
- prescribing and monitoring appropriate medications for patients with ADHD and ASD, in accordance with relevant guidelines and best practices
- providing patient education and support regarding medication management and potential side effects
- collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic and coordinated care for patients
- contributing to the development and implementation of treatment protocols and guidelines
- participating in regular clinical reviews and case conferences to evaluate treatment efficacy and patient progress
- engaging in continuous professional development to remain up to date with the latest research and developments in the field
- providing guidance and support to nursing staff and other team members as needed
