  • the successful candidate will be committed to improving wellbeing across the whole serving Army community and supporting those in need
  • applicants need to be credible working at Chief Executive level
  • personal recent experience of the Armed Forces is essential; knowledge of the charity sector would be an advantage
  • the Fund is committed to being an equal opportunities employer and to providing development and training opportunities
  • there is the option of home working or being office-based in Upavon, Wiltshire
  • the Army Central Fund supports serving Army personnel and their immediate families by disbursing grants totalling over £2.5M a year, mainly generated from its capital investments which currently stand at £70M
  • the Secretary is the sole employee of the Charity and works directly to the Board with responsibilities for the Fund’s administration, day-to-day management and for providing strategic advice
  • the Secretary will also be expected to visit projects and attend regular meetings throughout the UK
