Responsibility

ensure the Home is safe and secure
ensure that the environment is homely, welcoming, clean, tidy and well maintained
place the well-being of individual young people at the centre of their practice, irrespective of the challenges they may present
undertake administrative duties to support the residents of the Home, using the company’s electronic systems
share responsibility with colleagues for the practical and domestic tasks necessary for the effective operation of the Home, including shopping, cleaning, laundry and food preparation
demonstrate commitment to continuous professional development through attendance and participation in team meetings, supervision, training and conferences etc
work within the code of confidentiality and ensure that records in the Home are stored in a manner which is compliant with regulations
consistently promote the professional image of the Home through positive contact with external professionals, young people’s families and other relevant persons

Requirements

NVQ level 3 in Children and Young People or currently working towards this qualification
worked in a semi independent settings with young people who present challenging behaviour
experience of working with young people in a similar capacity
ability to engage young people, meet their physical and psychological needs
ability to work in partnership with other professionals and with the parent carer of the young people in our care
understanding of professional boundaries with young people
working with children: 2 years
working in a residential children's home: 2 years
