Working hours

  • part-time

Responsibility

  • recording daily transactions and completing the posting process
  • ensuring all transactions are recorded in the correct supplier, customer or general ledger
  • bring the books to trial balance
  • accounting system preparation of a monthly financial report to Trustees together with a summary and/or monthly SAGE reports as requested
  • maintaining the Charity's bank account online ensuring the prompt payment of salaries and other expenditure. Liaison with Trustees
  • preparation and submission of VAT returns to recover outgoing VAT
  • other responsibilities in the interests of the Charity maybe requested from time to time by management / Trustees
  • annual/bi-annual submission for gift aid

Requirements

  • proven bookkeeping skills , a recognised accounting qualification or proven experience in this field
  • high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • ability to work to monthly and annual accounting deadlines
  • A solid understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles Proven ability to calculate, post and manage financial records Proficient in Office and Sage accounting systems Excellent people and communication skills Ability to work independently and to be flexible in working both from the Centre and from home
