senior project engineer
Working hours
- full-time
Responsibility
- responsible for supporting and overseeing various aspects of the development of mechanical and electromechanical engineering activities
- resolve issues within the team and provide technical guidance and counsel
- delegate and manage task assigned by the Engineering Manager
- report progress on projects to the Engineering Manager, highlighting areas of concern
- assist the technical planning process and monitor resource
- design and engineering development of internally and externally sourced parts and assemblies
- deputise for the Engineering Manager in their absence by attending meetings as required and leading the Project Engineers in their day-to-day tasks
- create highly detailed 3D CAD models and supporting technical drawings and documents
Requirements
- advanced degrees are desirable but not essential
- at least 5 years’ experience working in an engineering team
- IOSH qualification
- demonstrable experience and exposure to the full product lifecycle process i.e. conceptualise, design, test, manufacture, support, end-of-life
- working knowledge of finite element methods and computational fluid dynamics
- A sound and thorough understanding of engineering first principles underpinned by technical qualifications and practical experience
- A detailed awareness of current state-of-the-art with respect to materials and manufacturing processes
- familiarity with project gateway disciplines and an ability to work under process whilst respecting the associated process disciplines
