STUDENT SUPPORT is looking for employees for positions:

counsellor

Responsibility

  • provide therapeutic counselling support to students experiencing emotional and mental health issues based on their own unique needs
  • ability to emphasise with the students over their personal and emotional needs while
  • working alongside with the student to promote self help, using self help tools
  • working in a team using a multi-disciplinary approach consulting with other practitioners
  • making risk assessments in line with service's crisis and risk assessment protocols
  • working 1:1 certain issues such as transition, anxiety, self help, self-esteem, eating distress, procrastination and exam panic
  • deliver follow up work outside of the practice, displaying caseload management, such as referrals to other teams within the university / other organisations, communicating with GP services

Requirements

  • educated to postgraduate Diploma or Masters Level in counselling, psychotherapy or counselling psychology and hold an accredited professional body membership
  • accredited Membership of the BACP or UKCP
  • A DBS to cover vulnerable adults
  • undertake regular individual clinical supervision
