Responsibility
- purchase goods, materials or services in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets
- build, develop, set up and maintain relationships with key suppliers, improving prices and commercial terms where possible
- to provide a seamless interface between the Procurement function and the Materials Management & Production Engineering functions
- to manage the daily purchasing activity, consistent with customer requirements
- act as an interface between suppliers and other relevant colleagues on purchasing processes and new projects and activities, resolving any price, quality, delivery or invoice issues
- to ensure that all the Procurement activities are aligned to the function objectives, follow the correct procedures and utilise the appropriate tools and processes
- to develop value adding relationships with the Materials Management team, cross-functional departments and suppliers
- ensure company Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental policies are adhered to at all times and, where necessary, implement identified improvements
Requirements
- studying towards, or attained CIPS or a relevant business qualification
- minimum of 4 years relevant experience in a Purchasing / Supply Chain role
- experience gained within a manufacturing / engineering or construction environment
- purchasing: 4 years
- supply chain: 4 years
