Responsibility

  • handling clinical specimens from clinical and post mortem samples
  • culturing bacteria and moulds using selective media
  • sample reception and results report in a timely manner
  • implementing and carrying out appropriate cleaning and disinfection protocols in the lab and post mortem rooms
  • routine calibration of equipment and maintaining stock of consumables
  • in house media preparation
  • performing microbial analysis on raw materials and environmental samples
  • identification of bacteria, fungi, protozoa and parasites for livestock, companion animals, avian and equine species using microscopy, staining and biochemical identification kits
