Responsibility

  • work closely with the board of directors providing support where required and ensuring the charity runs effectively and efficiently
  • line manage staff employed by Soirbheas
  • oversee service agreements and partnerships including Care at Home, Befriending and community transport
  • provide reports to funders and the board on the progress of the charities work, grant distributions and Soirbheas’ projects
  • develop and deliver the business plan and other strategic and governing policies
  • searching sources of funding and making funding applications
  • provide support to the key community organisations to allow them to achieve their goals; priority will be given to those that also meet the aims of the charity. Including securing funding, caring out due diligence and research when appropriate
  • advise and support the board of Soirbheas to oversee the management and distribution of the funds received by Soirbheas including the 4 grant programmes

Requirements

  • education to Degree Level or equivalent experience gained. Good written and verbal communication skills, including report writing
  • experienced in managing community benefit funds
  • minimum of 2 years experience of community development or project management in a rural context
  • accounting or Bookkeeping skills
  • experienced in managing a grant programme
  • degree or Masters in Community Development or Sustainable Rural Development
  • experienced in securing large-scale and capital funding
  • understanding of charity law
