Requirements
A relevant accounting qualification and ability to prepare annual accounts for audit
knowledge and experience of charity accounting and the accounting treatment of restricted and unrestricted funds
excellent knowledge and understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and accounting terms such as accruals, prepayments and depreciation
experience of using Paxton Charity Accounting software
experience working in a financial role within a Scottish Charity
experience of processing manual journal entries when required including for depreciation, accruals and prepayments
experience of using accountancy software
methodical with a good attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in processing financial information
Responsibility
process monthly salary and expenses figures
prepare accounts and schedules at year end in preparation for audit
complete financial sections of annual accounts and work with CEO on overall preparation
support the CEO in filing annual accounts and other financial information with OSCR
complete financial information forms in relation to request from the Office for National Statistics
processing organisational expenditure and income ensuring appropriate authorisations and systems are followed
maintain accounting records using Paxton Charity Accounting software and Excel spreadsheets. SPN is not VAT registered therefore currently no VAT returns required
keeping up to date with charity accounting regulations and adjustments required to current systems
