create a safe, welcoming, and stimulating environment that promotes the physical, emotional, and cognitive development of each child
establish strong relationships with parents and provide regular updates on their child's progress and well-being
lead and support a team of nursery practitioners, providing guidance, mentoring, and fostering a collaborative and positive work environment
ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
oversee the daily operations of the baby room, ensuring the highest standards of care and supervision for infants aged 0-2 years
conduct regular observations and assessments to track each child's development, identifying areas of strength and areas requiring additional support or intervention
Requirements
minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Childhood Education or equivalent
extensive experience working with babies aged 0-2 years, demonstrating a deep understanding of their developmental needs
knowledge of child development theories and best practices in early years education
excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish effective relationships with parents, colleagues, and children
strong leadership qualities and the ability to motivate and inspire a team of nursery practitioners
A nurturing and caring attitude towards babies, with the ability to provide individualized care and attention
first Aid and Safeguarding certifications are desirable

prepare and cook healthy, balanced meals and snacks—such as breakfast, lunch, and teatime—tailored to young children’s nutritional needs
adapt menus to manage individual dietary requirements, allergies, and cultural preferences
maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic environment, adhering to health and safety, COSHH, and food hygiene regulations
deliver meals to children’s rooms on schedule, and may occasionally supervise mealtimes or engage children during meal prep
collaborate with nursery staff, parents, and management regarding menus, dietary needs, and complaints
participate in inspections, training, and team meetings—potentially outside core hours
be a positive role model, uphold nursery policies, and contribute to an inclusive, welcoming atmosphere
