Responsibility
- to support development of category vision
- to co-ordinate place improvement projects to ensure effectively and timely delivery

- ensure all aspects of development and regeneration are fully financially assessed in terms of viability, funding requirements, land assembly and acquisitions
- to work on the development of options for place shaping proposals, utilising a range of technical skills, undertaking relevant research and option appraisal exercises as necessary in order to influence the shape and direction of individual schemes as well as providing constructive challenge to project scope and set up
- to promote commercial best practise through stakeholder and supplier relationships
- to oversee the commissioning and procurement of external consultants, development partners and contractors including design and planning consultation ensuring these are managed in line with delivery objectives and contract management procedures
- to engage with SME’s and the local community in order to meet the clients’s Sustainable Procurement policies
- to develop policy and actions to successfully progress the physical place shaping of specific priority areas of the borough, including partnership working, land assembly, funding and planning matters
- to ensure the delivery of compliant procurements and contracts and be responsible for improving overall compliance statistics and addressing non-compliance
- to develop policy and actions aimed at ensuring the council’s portfolio of community focussed buildings supports the services required by residents and community groups, to ensure optimum use of the facilities and value for money
- to deputise for the Regeneration Director as required
- to lead on the determination of the most effective procurement and contractual arrangements for schemes to achieve the most beneficial commercial terms, appropriately managing risk and reward whilst complying with procurement regulations
- to manage and support staff by applying corporate human resource policies including training, career development and safety and welfare at work
- to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives which lead to Procurement being recognised as Best in Class
- to contribute to the client’s vision and mission as encapsulated in the client Strategy 2015 - 2020
- to deputise for the Head of Homeownership Service when requested to ensure the effective running of Services
