Responsibility
- perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, clipping, and styling pets according to breed standards and client preferences
- assess the condition of pets' coats and skin, identifying any health issues that may require veterinary attention
- handle pets safely and compassionately during grooming procedures, ensuring their comfort and minimising stress
- maintain cleanliness and organisation of the grooming area, including tools and equipment
- communicate effectively with pet owners regarding grooming options, aftercare, and any observed health concerns
- provide exceptional customer service by building rapport with clients and addressing their needs promptly
- upselling of additional services, products to enhance the dog & Clients Experience
- assist in managing appointments and scheduling for grooming services as needed & keeping clients records uptodate
Requirements
- strong understanding of animal behaviour and handling techniques to ensure safety for both pets and staff
- excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners
- capability to perform heavy lifting as required when handling larger breeds or multiple pets
- A genuine passion for animal welfare and a commitment to providing high-quality care
- previous experience in pet grooming or animal care is preferred; this position requires a Ofqual Regulated AIM/OCN, iPET or City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma or higher Qualification
