Responsibility

• assist the Pastry Manager with all day-to-day operations of the pastry section of the kitchen
• prepare a wide variety of goods such as cakes, traybakes, cookies, and specialist desserts following traditional and modern recipes

• ensure consistent high quality throughout the dessert offerings, always
• monitor stocks for pastry ingredients such as flour, sugar etc. and make appropriate orders within budget
• ensure the kitchen is kept clean and sanitised at all times
• maintain up to date knowledge about pastry arts and ingredients
• decorate pastries and desserts using different types of icings, toppings etc. and ensure the food presentation will of excellent standard at all times
• the candidate must possess a positive attitude and have the ability to work with a variety of people and in cooperation with co-workers efficiently and effectively

Requirements

• minimum of 3 years’ experience in pastry cooking or as a Pastry Chef, working in a fast paced kitchen environment
• good knowledge of different types of pastry, dessert, cake decorating
• good sense of planning and preparation for the day ahead
