Requirements

  • hold a Safe Lives IDVA training or a relevant degree, or demonstrable equivalent experience, or a vocational qualification - Essential
  • OTHER Ability to work outside the normal office hours to cover ‘on-call’ on a rota basis
  • have computer literacy skills - Essential
  • working with vulnerable people- Essential
  • have computer literacy skills and have some experience of working with databases - Essential
  • have excellent communication, both written and verbal- Essential
  • managing a caseload- Essential
  • have an understanding of how experiencing domestic abuse might impact upon a victim and their children - Essential

Responsibility

  • to maintain and demonstrate a commitment to the Organisation’s vision, values and strategic aims and objectives
  • to maintain knowledge of the Organisation’s operating environment
  • to maintain high standards of professionalism and keep abreast of current legislation, standards, best practice and maintain a focus on continuous improvement
  • to accept referrals by the service manager/senior DAP and commence an initial need and risk assessment with the client within the specified timescales initiating plans to manage and address risks, needs and immediate safety
  • planning and delivery of support to clients and their children living in our accommodation and community in line with a structured plan that is driven by the risks posed to the client and the needs and preferences of the individual client
  • 10. To maintain confidential records and ensure that consistent and accurate monitoring systems are maintained
  • working as part of a team for the day-to-day running of the service and ensuring that all health and safety requirements are managed appropriately, and the facilities are clean, welcoming and resourced at all times
  • the role holder will be expected to perform any other duties that may reasonably be asked of them

  • be able to form good working relationships with women whilst working within professional boundaries - Essential
  • understand Safeguarding and child protection issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues - Essential
  • understand the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims of domestic abuse and their children - Essential
  • understand the remits and resources of relevant statutory bodies and voluntary agencies - Essential
  • understand and be committed to equal opportunities and diversity issues in policy and practice - Essential
  • understand the needs of vulnerable people generally - Essential
  • have a good working knowledge of the local area - Desirable
