Requirements

  • leadership and line management experience within a diverse team
  • proven ability to identify, develop and deliver strategic objectives
  • budget management experience
  • experience of managing property maintenance
  • good level of IT systems support and implemetation experience
  • understanding of the requirement of the Data Protection Act, and experience of managing GDPR
  • experience of working with Trustees and volunteers
  • business development: 2 years

Responsibility

  • to be responsible for ensuring that health and safety and fire policies and procedures are in accordance with government, legal, Branch and RSPCA requirements and to ensure that all staff and volunteers understand their responsibility for health and safety
  • to attend meetings and training both on and off the island
  • to be responsible to the Trustees of the Isle of Wight Branch and to develop, maintain and ensure the smooth running of all activities within the Branch and to be responsible for the delivery of the Branch’s objectives, to promote kindness and prevent cruelty to animals, cost effectively in the Branch area
  • to carry out any other reasonable duties and instructions are directed by The Board of Trustees
  • to offer practical support and cover of shops and the Shelter when required)
  • to be aware of RSPCA policies and procedures in accordance with Charity Commission, legal, financial and environmental requirements and to keep Trustees informed of new responsibilities
  • work with the animal centre manager to build a suite of policies and procedures for all aspects of branch work
