Responsibility

  • leaving Care Support Workers are responsible for supporting young people who have been in local authority care as they prepare to move on from their services and make the transition into adulthood
  • they help young people to prepare for living independently in their communities by providing advice, information and practical support as the young person works towards achieving full independence
  • they support the young person who may be uncertain about their future in making positive choices so as they can flourish in adulthood
  • conduct regular Property inspections

Requirements

  • previous experience of supporting young people to transition into leaving care
  • ability to provide emotional support while maintaining confidentiality
  • comfortable with being able to work independently
  • evaluate, coordinate, and provide necessary resources to support young people in achieving their personal goals
  • excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
