So, where do I begin…
Roxy contacted me on indeed in August this year asking me to work for her in the office as a senior recruitment consultant. She was offering the right money so I thought I’d go for it.
A few days later she started to text me and call me all the time, spending hours with me on the phone which was strange but I just thought she is moving the business to Manchester she just wants to make friends.
I started my first day on the 11th of September 2024 and here is a list of what Roxy did or didn’t do in the few days I was there.

- did not provide any training whatsoever.
- compared me to other staff saying they were doing better than me.
- lied about people trying to contact me
- lied saying she was listening to calls I had made ( calls were never recorded )
- said I was ignoring the phone and wasn’t doing my job properly ( the phone never rang )
- invited other staff member on trip to London and said I couldn’t go because I hadn’t made her any money yet.
- sending me texts saying she is going to lower my salary.
- refusing to give me a wage slip or p45
- refusing to pay me on the date she said was the payday.
- having a go at me saying she couldn’t get home of me on a weekend and that I should have been working ( the working days are mon - fri and I had only been in the business 3 days )
- talking to me like I’m a child
- having a go at me for checking my phone in the office for a split second when my 75 year old father was in the hospital.
- approved a pre booked holiday then told me I needed to get an early flight home.

This was only a handful of things I could think of, but it was the worst 7 days of my life. Roxy is attempting to set up a business but she is treating her staff terribly, there is no HR, no trainer, no compliance, nothing just her trying to get people to make her money. I cannot warn you enough please do not do it.!!

I had an extremely disappointing experience with this recruiter. The managers seem to think it's acceptable to snatch a colleague’s phone out of their hand while they're on a call with me. I was then called unprofessional and was essentially yelled at like a child.The night before I was supposed to start, I received a message at 21:20 saying, "There isn't any work tomorrow, I will call you tomorrow to discuss the new start date. Thanks." However, I never received that call. Instead, I got an email later with my new start date and further details.Then, once again, I was messaged at the incredibly unprofessional time of 23:40 on Monday, 19th August (just 5 hours and 20 minutes before I was supposed to start my new role). The message said, "Hello, sorry for the late message. I tried calling earlier also." This was untrue—I had no missed calls from them. They informed me that my start date had been moved to Wednesday due to scheduling issues and that they would call me at 9 AM the next day. By 13:29 on Tuesday, 20th August, I still hadn't received any follow-up call.Finally, at 13:50, I received a call and was told that there would be no work available for the entire week. I was originally told this position was a semi-permanent role, Monday to Friday, 5 AM until finish, lasting 6 months to a year.I strongly advise against using this recruiter. The way I was treated was absolutely appalling and unacceptable. Stay far away from them and find a recruiter who actually cares about helping you with your career.
