being a key part of the programme management team to meet the operational and strategic procurement needs of the programme
set direction and be responsible for the delivery of the programme procurement plan
management and leadership responsibility for a team of skilled procurement professionals, group leaders and managers including Strategic and Operational Procurement staff
ensuring people are skilled, competent and empowered to meet the functional and business objectives
providing an excellent internal customer experience, through functional and supplier performance and embedding a culture of continuous improvement
leading the procurement work package within the programme, managing the effective deployment of Procurement processes and contribute to the development of Procurement policy and processes for the defined area of responsibility
Requirements
ideally degree qualified and CIPS accredited or alternative experience
experienced in creation & implementation of Project Procurement activities including reporting
experienced in working within a multi-national Procurement organisation and complex matrix organisations
in-depth working knowledge of creating Requests for Tender and the assessment process
commercially strong, with ability to negotiate at senior levels within Supply Chain and leverage spend wherever possible
ability to deal with ambiguity
control account management of delegated work packages
ability to co-ordinate & lead direct reports
