mechanical design engineer
Working hours
- full-time | Permanent
Responsibility
- utilising AutoCAD, NX and Inventor 3D CAD systems to their maximum capability
- using AutoCAD & Solidworks 2D software programmes
- carrying out DFM and assembly protocols
- producing 3D part models and assemblies
- ensuring drawings are compliant with industry and health and safety standards and protocols
- producing detailed 2D component and assembly drawings to required standards
- undertake calculations for performance and safety considerations including FEA and FMEA analysis
- presenting working drawings for use in all stages of the project, tender, manufacture/construction, and installation
Requirements
- previous Design experience in a similar role within a Manufacturing background is required
- knowledge of production / engineering principles
- previous 2D CAD experience - creating and modifying technical drawings
- be able to demonstrate excellent Mechanical Design experience within a 3D CAD environment
- A minimum of an HNC / HND with appropriate industrial experience
- the ability to create and read 2D technical drawings
- previous experience of working in a similar position, for a production / manufacturing organisation
- application experience of FEA software is preferred
