Responsibility

  • ● Designing, coding, integrating, testing, debugging and documenting our App software on both the Android and iOS operating system
  • ● Supporting the ongoing development, maintenance, testing and debugging of our AWS cloud based back-end infrastructure
  • ● Supporting the definition and ongoing maintenance of system APIs to the various elements of our system
  • ● Working with other engineers and the management team to help gather and define future product requirements and specifications
  • ● Maintaining effective configuration and quality control of our App based products and our supporting cloud infrastructure through peer code review and the use of appropriate configuration control tools
  • ● Testing, refining and continually improving the products we develop through on water testing, customer feedback and a desire to produce a better product

Requirements

  • ● Experience with using and maintaining Amazons database services including Amazon RDS and similar such services
  • you will also work closely with the team to enhance and further develop our Amazon Web Service cloud-based backend infrastructure
  • ● Familiarity with software configuration management tools, defect tracking tools, and peer code review processes
  • ● Experience in web and app development including familiarity with such things as HTML, Javascript, Django, Python, Android, Swift, Dart
  • you are likely to have recently left University or College with a computer science or similar degree, preferably with 1-2 years subsequent experience in App and Cloud development
  • ● Experience in developing cloud services, specifically using the Amazon Web Service environment including familiarity with AWS MQTT, Lambda and AWS Authentication services such as Cognito
  • you will work closely with the team in the ongoing development and support of our phone/tablet-based App products in both the Android and iOS operating system
  • whilst not required for the role, some on-water experience of small boats would be considered advantageous as the role may involve taking part in sea-trials
