process repeat prescription requests received by phone, email, post, slips and the online access system, in accordance with practice protocol b
produce prescriptions for the GP to sign in an acceptable timeframe c
ensure all prescription requests are processed and are ready for collection within a 48-hour timeframe d
generate requests for medication on behalf of the patient for non-repeat items e
actively encourage patients to reconcile medications to facilitate monthly collections f
discuss with patients their requirements, encouraging patients to order only what they require g
act upon compliance issues, liaising with the appropriate clinician h
pharmacy technician

the following are the core responsibilities of the pharmacy technician
support the role of the Clinical Pharmacists in the delivery of clinical pharmacy services
perform medicines improvement work to maximise safe, cost-effective best practice in prescribing under the supervision of the GP or Clinical Pharmacist
assist with medication safety monitoring systems (e.g
high-risk drugs.) Liaise with clinicians, administrative staff and patients to resolve medicine-related queries
monitor practice prescribing and local and national prescribing policies
improve service and quality through mechanisms such as audits
there may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels

qualification in a health or social care allied profession
experience working in a primary care setting
experience of providing and receiving complex, sensitive information
