media researcher
Responsibility
- accessing daily media content from the pressdata.co.uk website and other sources for clients
- analysing the content both quantitatively and qualitatively, according to client briefs and established media analysis best practice methodology
- managing and recording data in databases, primarily using MS Access
- evaluating data within spreadsheets and preparing tables and charts
- contributing to the preparation and delivery of written reports using pre-established templates in MS PowerPoint, Word, and Publisher
- playing a full role within the evaluation team, contributing to general administrative tasks, team strategy, training and developing services
- retrieving data from various online media analysis sources and updating local databases and records
Requirements
- knowledge of the media and PR environment
- ability to identify and extract qualitative information from pre-collated press, online, broadcast, and social media
- excellent concentration levels within busy working environment
- knowledge of, and aptitude for, basic statistical analysis
- high level of attention to detail, with the ability to locate and correct discrepancies in data
- an ability to draw qualitative and quantitative information from various sources
- experience of, and aptitude to develop high-level skills with, Microsoft Access, Excel and PowerPoint
- desire to develop technical capabilities with Excel functions and formulas, and other analysis programs
