vehicle technician / mot tester
Responsibility
- perform MOT tests on vehicles to ensure they meet safety and environmental standards
- inspect vehicle components and systems, including brakes, suspension, exhaust, and emissions
- identify and document any defects or issues found during the test
- advise customers on necessary repairs or maintenance to pass the MOT test
- complete all required paperwork and documentation accurately and in a timely manner
Requirements
- previous experience as an MOT Tester is preferred but not required
- proficient in using hand tools and power tools for vehicle inspections
- familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in vehicle inspections
- excellent attention to detail and ability to identify defects or issues
- strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of vehicle systems
- strong problem-solving skills to diagnose and troubleshoot vehicle problems
- ability to perform heavy lifting as needed
- good communication skills to interact with customers and explain necessary repairs or maintenance
