vehicle technician / mot tester

Responsibility

  • perform MOT tests on vehicles to ensure they meet safety and environmental standards
  • inspect vehicle components and systems, including brakes, suspension, exhaust, and emissions
  • identify and document any defects or issues found during the test
  • advise customers on necessary repairs or maintenance to pass the MOT test
  • complete all required paperwork and documentation accurately and in a timely manner

Requirements

  • previous experience as an MOT Tester is preferred but not required
  • proficient in using hand tools and power tools for vehicle inspections
  • familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in vehicle inspections
  • excellent attention to detail and ability to identify defects or issues
  • strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of vehicle systems
  • strong problem-solving skills to diagnose and troubleshoot vehicle problems
  • ability to perform heavy lifting as needed
  • good communication skills to interact with customers and explain necessary repairs or maintenance
