Working hours

Responsibility

  • inspect and test vehicles to ensure they meet the legal requirements
  • carry out safety checks on vehicles
  • find and diagnose faults using hand tools and computers
  • advise workshop manager on what repairs are needed, via a service report/job sheet
  • repair or replace faulty parts and carry out regular maintenance on vehicles
  • road test vehicles to check repairs
  • if in position of an Mot licence the successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out MOT tests on vehicles, ensuring that they meet the required safety standards

Requirements

  • we are also happy to consider a person with relevant experience and knowledge of motor vehicles
  • we have our own vehicle sales department in addition to offering mechanical services/repairs and Mot's to our customers
  • we are looking for a qualified and experienced Mechanic/Mot Tester to join our team. As we cover almost all aspects of servicing and repairs ideally we would like you to have NVQ level 2/3 or City and Guilds Automotive
  • the candidate must be competent in all aspects of mechanical serving and repairs such as clutches, suspension work, brakes, diagnostics and fault finding etc
  • mot licence is not essential as we are happy to facilitate training for an Mot course, if you are willing to update and improve your skills
