- previous experience of working with a range of materials and heavy fabrications
- good communication abilities
Responsibility
- one offs and small batch production
- prepare and operate CNC machines
- machining a range of materials including, Mild Steel, Stainless steel, and Nickel Alloys such as Invar
- understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings etc
- working with a range of parts, which include heavy fabrications cast iron components
- translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function
- supervise the machines while they run the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result
