PEGASUS SUPPORTED HOUSING is looking for employees for positions:

support worker

Responsibility

  • to undertake support related tasks with allocated service user
  • identify and maintain focus on progression and achievement of personal goals for the service user
  • risk assesses and assists the service user with security and safety matters within their home
  • deliver a comprehensive and strength based coaching package with the service user designed to maximise independence. This should be based on an initial assessment of the service users’ needs and abilities
  • liaise / develop relationships and work collaboratively with statutory and non-statutory / voluntary agencies where appropriate to negotiate and agree their participation in working with the service user, this includes arranging multi-agency meetings
  • confident in challenging service users to provide behaviour intervention to enable them to address challenges they may face
  • to maintain and update records of service user’s progressions / outcomes using the provided online software, maintaining contact on a regular basis in line with organisational expectations
  • to promote independence and wellbeing through coaching service users to enhance life skills that enable them to independently manage personal finances, health and wellbeing, tenancy sustainability and be ready for move on to independent accommodation

Requirements

  • must hold Full UK Driver’s License
  • experience of working with multiple disadvantaged individuals
  • must have valid vehicle business insurance upon commencing the role
  • working knowledge of the welfare benefit system
  • have awareness of safeguarding and relevant actions required in line with safeguarding policies
  • experience in being able to de-escalate challenging situations
  • experience of working with multi-disciplinary agencies specialising in supporting vulnerable adults
  • demonstrate the ability to work within psychologically informed environments and with trauma informed support
