- review product development from competitors and High Street and survey competitor shops 2-3 times a year
- problem solve and resolve any issues with suppliers for products that don’t meet POM’s expectations
- ensure that the specifications for labelling and packaging are correct for each product in conjunction with the Buying and Merchandising assistants
- analyse and forecast trends by using sales data and highlighting opportunities and areas for growth and calculating Budget for multiple SKUs for each season’s buy
- attend UK and overseas trade fairs and make supplier visits to find new products for POM to sell that fit within the scope, product and pricing ranges
- liaise with overseas suppliers to ensure that they produce products of acceptable high quality that fit within the scope and brief internally supplied for each season
- negotiate prices, delivery dates and orders and work with the rest of the Buying and Merchandising team to ensure the ordered products meet the specifications of buying samples, and orders are placed in a timely manner to meet launch dates
- support trade show stand set-up and attend trade shows to judge on-the-ground customer feedback
