Requirements

  • senior strategic finance experience including managing large budgets
  • knowledge of financial planning / risk management, including funding and the preparation and delivery of business cases
  • knowledge & experience of governance, including the process and management of financial controls and contract negotiation
  • knowledge and understanding of commercial strategies
  • qualified chartered accountant- e.g. ACCA, CAI, CIMA, CIPFA, ICAEW, ICAS
  • commitment to promoting the ethos and values of the school and getting the best outcomes for all pupils
  • commitment to acting with integrity, honesty, loyalty and fairness to safeguard the assets, financial probity and reputation of the school
  • ability to work under pressure and prioritise effectively

Responsibility

  • we are looking to appoint a Director of Finance who will play a key strategic and operational role in
  • directing central business decisions and coordinating efficient administrative and service-based functions throughout the school
  • this role offers exciting opportunities outside of those normally associated with a DFO position within
  • the state school sector. We have an international trading company currently working with schools in
  • china, generating significant income for the school
  • reporting to: Headteacher
  • responsible for: School Office Manager, Finance Manager, Premises Team
  • we are also the lead school for three curriculum hubs in the region
