Requirements
many of the service users will communicate non-verbally, so being able to use Makaton or PECs will be ideal
you must be comfortable with personal care
communicate and engage effectively with our service users, their families, colleagues and other professionals
have strong interpersonal and working relationship skills
as an Autism Support Worker, you will be supporting service users with ASD/ADHD Autism, sensory and communication impairments, Mild to Moderate Learning Difficulties , Complex Needs, and Severe to Profound Multiple Learning Difficulties
the ability to listen sensitively to others, have good verbal communication skills and use the service users' preferred method of communication
as an Autism Support Worker, you will work closely with other staff members and the multidisciplinary therapy team. Recent experience and a genuine passion for working with service users are essential
ability to work in a calm, patient and tolerant manner at a pace appropriate to the needs of the individual
