mechanical design engineer
Responsibility
- write and review technical documents to support products, from build procedures, operation and maintenance manuals and technical files / design reports
- create parts, assemblies, bills of materials within our PDM system
- undertake experimental and validation testing where required with our products
- developing and improving manufacturing and assembly processes / procedures for both new and existing products
- to work with other departments within the business to ensure products transition to use customers efficiently
- create product models and drawings in a CAD package , including a detailed understanding of geometrical product specification tolerancing to BS8888:2020, dimensioning and stress analysis
Requirements
- experience in a similar or related role
- mechanical component and/or pressure vessel design
- stress analysis of safety-critical components
- A degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering. An advanced modern apprenticeship to a minimum of HNC level with multiple year industry experience will be considered
