- job Description Main Duties and Responsibilities of the Post Open and make ready the surgery in the morning Receive patients awaiting appointments and ensure efficiency of appointment system Ensure patients without appointments but who need urgent consultations are seen Book appointments for patients to see doctors, nurses and other clinicians Navigate patients to alternative services Respond to all queries and requests for assistance from patients and other visitors Ability to multi-task between patients and clinical staff Advise patients of relevant charges for private services Ensure necessary information is passed to lead doctor or duty doctor Register new and temporary patients Book and action waiting lists Receive and make telephone calls as required
- incoming calls must be priority Action emails in reception email inbox Receive specimens from patients or doctors and ensure despatch to hospital laboratory Data Entry Check all blood and urine results received Check task screen and action where necessary Tidy and close the surgery at the end of the day Any other delegated duties considered appropriate to the post
