residential support worker
Responsibility
- support children and young people with all aspects of their care, including education, health, activities, in line with the Care Standards
- accompany children/ young people to school, appointments, and activities such as shopping trips or day trips out
- promoting a happy and positive environment at all times for children and young people. Instilling belief through encouragement and praise
- recording and maintaining records to a high professional standard
- to enable children/young people to develop their social skills and to access appropriate leisure activities and promote their participation and independence
- to ensure the protection of the children and young people from significant harm, by, observing changes in children’s behaviour or appearance and complying fully with the Company Child Protection policy
Requirements
- recent experience working as Residential Support Worker in a Children's Home
- have the ability to build and trusting relationship with children/young people
- have high personal and professional standards
- flexibility to undertake shift working including evenings and nights, weekends and bank holidays and sleep-ins
- ability to write professional reports and confidentially using Office 365
- IT: 1 year
- experience with children: 1 year
- have the ability to work with children and young people in a non- judgemental or institutionalized way Resilience to cope with challenging behaviour and circumstances
